ABOUT US / WHO WE ARE

Located near the Arco della Pace, in the centre of Milan, Gigasound was set up in the spring of 2008 by Michele and Lorenzo. Their similar working backgrounds made it easy for them to hook up together to offer the discerning public a dynamic and flexible production facility.

In the space of just three years Gigasound has opened two other studios and taken on new staff. It has secured a deserved position for itself among the most successful studios currently operating in the field of TV and radio advertising.

Today Gigasound provides production and post-production audio services for all digital platforms. From TV and cinema to radio and the Web, including sound design and ISDN link ups.

STUDIOS

The studio consists of three control rooms and two recording studios, all benefitting from natural light.

Digital cabling has been fitted throughout and there are 12 ISDN lines. The rooms have been technically alligned to allow for the real time transfer of any recorded item.

Each control room can gain immediate access to music and sound effects libraries by means of a server.

By their very nature, radio communications require no visual support, so the listener’s attention is concentrated exclusively on what can be ‘heard’. For this reason we dedicate very special attention to whatever we produce and broadcast – from the choice of the voice to each and every single effect and musical chord.

It has been said that each sound must be able to ‘live’ on its own.

We would suggest it must also be able to arouse emotions.

Radio imaging
We spent eight years inside a great radio station (RTL 102.5) to find out everything there is to know about radio imaging.
As a result of that experience, Gigasound is now in a position to offer all kinds of radio products, from commercials and editorial promos to jingles and wholesale radio imagings.

SERVICES / CINEMA

More than ten years experience in this sector means we are able to offer assistence in the production of short films, ads and audio transcriptions for cinematic projection.

We work on the sound design, the mixes and the transcriptions in accordance with the precise requirements of major distributors (including UCI Cinema and Sipra).  The products are then measured both analogically (with the help of Dolby Cat 737) and digitally so as to guarantee complete conformity with the requirements.

The production of audio content for the web platform requires special attention. Compared with the TV or radio, the sound of what you hear is decidedly different on a computer. Even the way you listen changes. Often people are surprised that the commercial you hear on TV doesn’t come across the same on a PC. “But it sounds different ... Ok, that’s the Internet!”

For many people it’s not important. For us, it is.

The musical interpretation of images or advertising is perhaps the most fascinating aspect of our work. For some of us, it’s a dream come true.

To get inside the head of the creator or copywriter, to be able to understand what he or she wishes to communicate and to come up with a creative solution is what makes our job both unique and consistently stimulating. Our decade-long experience in the localising of audio products and our network of consolidated international partners means that we are now able to offer not only the best voice talents currently on the market but also expert advice when it comes to consulting clients about what to do in different countries. We can offer translation and text adaptation services, as well as bespoke castings, for more than thirty languages. And we have ISDN connections with nearly all European countries.

Our international services have seen us carry out recordings for clients like Ferrero (17 languages including Israeli, Arabic, Ukrainian and Russian), Campari, Luxottica, Enel, Geox and many more.

As a result of more than 12 years professional experience with ISDN links, Gigasound can now be considered the most well-equipped Italian studio when it comes to ISDN connections and territorial consultancy services.

We serve nearly all the studios in Switzerland through mono and stereo connections and through several studios at the same time.

Since 2008 we have recorded all the Apple TV campaigns broadcast in Italy, carrying out ISDN bridge connections from Los Angeles to London, via Milan.

And just a few years after entering the fray we’ve established a benchmark role for ourselves in Europe for the Italian market, with reliable ISDN connections as well as territorial consultancy services for voice talents, up-to-date casting services and related royalties-management.
